    New revision more heat resistance

Posted by JAMES GRIFFITHS on Aug 12th 2024

We seem to have to replace this module every 4 years, this new version has a much better heat sink. Easy install - 2 screws and 3 plugs. Hoping it lasts more than the previous generation.

    Improved design

Posted by Jacob on Sep 3rd 2019

Very happy with this replacement module. Installed on a Lennox G60, replaced the 18M81 module that burned out. This new module is a much better design, instead of a smooth stamped steel case it has a cast aluminum case with cooling fins that benefit from the fan motor pulling return air over it. The mosfets are on a heat sync that is connected directly to the case next to those cooling fins. The capacitors are slightly smaller than the replacement and the board is bathed in silicon. Harder fix but I don’t suspect we will ever need to. Install was plug and play, and it saved us money over buying the old module which included a motor we didn’t need. Really happy with this fix that is also an upgrade. I expect this will last more than a decade.
